About MoneyWave

MoneyWave (moneywave.me) does two things for African importers buying from China: it publishes a directory of 322 suppliers, sourcing agents and importation operators scored from public buyer comments, and it settles their invoices in local currency. As of August 2026 the directory is re-checked weekly and free to browse.

Why a payments company publishes a supplier directory

Because the hardest part of paying a Chinese supplier is not the payment — it is knowing whether the person on the other end is real. We were already being asked “is this seller legit?” by people about to send money, and the honest answer required doing the work.

  • The directory is free to browse and free to search. A free account unlocks contact details.
  • A $9/month subscription unlocks the harvested buyer quotes and sentiment analysis, and funds the weekly refresh.
  • Payments are a separate product. You can use either without the other.

How we stay independent of the sellers we list

No seller pays us anything, for anything. Listings are not for sale, placement is not for sale, and no commercial relationship can raise a Trust Signal, remove a concern quote or change the sort order. We also do not list payment or FX businesses at all, because that is our own market.

  • No sponsored placement, no paid inclusion, no “featured” tier — anywhere in the directory.
  • A seller cannot appeal or buy a change to their score. Corrections are made against public evidence.
  • Payment and FX businesses are excluded by policy, not by judgement call — we would be scoring our own competitors.
  • Trust Signals are observations from public data, never endorsements. We say so on every page.

Where the data comes from

Public posts and buyer comments on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, sampled by an automated job that runs weekly. Every harvested quote carries the real date the buyer wrote it, read from the platform — never an approximation of when we happened to sample it.
